Where is Hermit Creek Farm located?

Hermit Creek is in Ashland County Wisconsin, about 20 miles south of Lake Superior. Half of our farm is in the Town of Marengo on Spring Brook Road, the other half is in the Town of Ashland on Broeniman Road.

Can I visit Hermit Creek Farm?

The short answer is Yes! As a farm, we don’t have typical Open and Closed hours (we’re almost always here working). We try to host several farm tours during the summer that are always open to the public. The farm is almost always open for visits; to walk the fields, pet a lamb, get barked at by a pack of rambunctious border collies, or pick dandelions. We can’t always conduct a tour but we can usually take a few moments to say hello and get you headed in the right direction.

Can I volunteer to help on the farm?

Typically we do not have volunteers help on the farm. Sadly, this is largely due to farm insurance considerations as well as simple logistics and management.

Do you hire employees?

Yes. We typically hire 3 to 5 employees annually with jobs starting in April and running to November. Because we are a small farm, everyone ends up doing a bit of everything in a team setting. It’s dirty, hard work but can be very rewarding for the right person (plus you eat a lot of awesome food!). Give us a call or check out our employment page.
